Cockroach Control · Greenville, Spartanburg & Anderson
Roach control for palmetto bugs and their cousins.
In South Carolina, the big roaches you find in the garage or bathroom at night are usually outdoor species — American cockroaches ("palmetto bugs"), smokybrown and Oriental roaches — that wander in from mulch, crawlspaces and drains. We stop them at the perimeter and treat the damp, hidden places they live.
American, Oriental and smokybrown cockroaches are included in Lemon Standard and Premium.

Quick answer
Why do I see big roaches in my house in South Carolina?
Most large roaches in Upstate homes are outdoor species like American (palmetto bugs) and smokybrown cockroaches. They live in mulch, trees, crawlspaces and sewers, and come inside through gaps, drains and garage doors — especially in hot, humid weather or after heavy rain.
Signs of a roach problem
Large reddish-brown or dark roaches in bathrooms, garages or basements, mostly at night.
Small dark droppings that look like pepper or coffee grounds along baseboards.
A musty odor in closed-up areas like crawlspaces and storage rooms.
Roaches near drains, water heaters or under sinks.
Cockroaches common in the Upstate
American cockroaches ("palmetto bugs")
The largest roach in our area, reddish-brown and up to two inches long. They live in sewers, crawlspaces and mulch and can fly short distances.
Smokybrown cockroaches
Dark mahogany and shiny, very common in the Upstate. They live in trees, gutters and mulch beds and are drawn to lights.
Oriental cockroaches
Dark, slow and cold-tolerant. They prefer damp, cool spots like crawlspaces, basements and drains.
German cockroaches
The small tan roach that lives in kitchens breeds entirely indoors and usually takes several targeted treatments, so German cockroach infestations are treated under a separate quote.
The Lemon way
How we handle cockroaches
01
Inspect moisture zones
We check crawlspaces, garages, drains, water heaters and mulch beds — the damp places roaches depend on.
02
Perimeter barrier
An exterior treatment around the foundation, doors, windows and utility entries stops roaches before they get inside.
03
Targeted interior treatment
Baits and crack-and-crevice treatments in bathrooms, kitchens and the garage handle the ones that already found a way in.
04
Quarterly upkeep
Roach pressure rises with heat and humidity, so we refresh protection every season and come back free if they do.
Between visits
What you can do to help
A few simple habits make a real difference — and they’re free.
Keep a few inches of space between mulch and your foundation.
Fix leaky pipes and run a dehumidifier in damp basements or crawlspaces.
Install door sweeps and seal gaps around plumbing under sinks.
Do not leave pet food or dishes out overnight.

No. Outdoor roaches like palmetto bugs wander in from mulch, trees and crawlspaces regardless of how clean your home is. A perimeter barrier is the best defense.
Do you treat German cockroaches?
Yes, under a separate quote. German cockroaches live and breed indoors and usually need several targeted treatments, so infestations are not part of our general plans. Call or text us and we will walk you through what to expect and what it costs.
How fast will I see results?
Most customers notice far fewer roaches within the first couple of weeks. If they are still showing up between visits, we will come back at no extra charge.
